What was the highlight of Art Hotel Diamond Naxos Taormina
Pleasant, with massive swimming pool
V friendly, helpful staff. Set up to cater well for lots of people. Smaller/ ground floor pool delightful - and has (expensive but nice) poolside bar w light snacks. Open late for drinks poolside. Brilliant free shuttle bus service to/from Taormina. Quieter, off-piste location. 7min walk from Taormina train station.
Hotel has wide range of facilities, but evidently costly to upkeep and with fewer tourists those facilities now feel slightly ‘tired’. Eg fountains closed; sports facilities with tufts of grass etc. Has massive outside pool 3rd floor, which whilst too big for family of four served well other groups of families travelling together. Local beach not great; narrow, v pebbly, not that clean - oil on water from boats etc. Either Walk into Naxos itself (35-50min) or take shuttle bus, and walk thru Taormina Corsa to the funivar.

Not a real five star accommodation
The are two very big pools outdoor and pretty good indoor pool in the spa. The breakfast was very good and with a lot of choice.
It is not a five star service at all. But I guess this the reason cause the price was lower than the other five stars accommodation near taormina. The food served during the dinner was not so good. The chef has a lot of good ideas but the result was quite low regarding the expectations.

Terrible.
This was the worst stay of my life.
We booked this hotel because it looked incredible and had a great location. From the moment we arrived it was so much of a disaster we had to move hotel after the first night even though it was already booked via Booking.com - when we did this they told us we had to change it ourselves and I spent about 30 minutes telling them it was something they had to do on their side after discovering on Google how to change the booking to avoid paying for the three nights I initially booked. We waited 3 hours at check in only to be told our room was not ready even though it was supposed to be, when we went back we waited another hour which resulted in wasting a day. No one offered to take our bags up to the room despite having to take two lifts and walk for 10 minutes to the new section of the hotel which is where the room was located. When we got to our room the air conditioning wasn't working, they sent someone up and it still wasn't working. We had no towels so asked for towels which we never got and resulted us not showering that evening. The room wasn't clean in general and had marks on the sheets and hair in the shower. I asked for an adapter and they told me to come and get it at reception rather than sending it up to the room. When we told them we were leaving the hotel they offered us a free drink so we went to get the free drink which took 45 minutes because no one was at the bar. We were charged in full for the first night - it was a horrible first day and experience. Maybe if it was a one star hotel I would expect these things but apparently it's not.
